Overview

The National Quality Measures Clearinghouse™ (NQMC) Template of Measure Attributes, sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary tool used to create NQMC content. This tool, represented by the Complete Summary, contains all of the key attributes used to summarize each measure for the purposes of creating the various standard summary formats available at the NQMC Web site.

There are eight options for viewing measures at the NQMC Web site: Brief Summary, Complete Summary, Measure Comparison, Full-Text, XML View, Palm Download, MS Word, and Adobe PDF.

The default view is the Brief Summary -- when you select a particular measure title from within a list of search or browse results, the system immediately links to the Brief Summary. From there, you may choose to view the Complete Summary, Full-Text measure (when available), XML View, Palm Download, MS Word, or Adobe PDF by choosing the appropriate option in the Summary box of the Side Menu.

A standard set of measure attributes in the Measure Comparison includes the title of the measure, the measure developer and submitter, release and revision dates, measure set name and composite measure name to which the measure belongs (if applicable), description, rationale, denominator and numerator descriptions, data source, care setting selected, computation of the measure, and information on the extent of measure testing.
